Sanity Bat Co. provides controlled composite bat break-in and compression testing designed to loosen the barrel and accelerate the normal break-in process.
Every bat is different.
Some start softer.
Some are dramatically stiffer.
Even different drop weights of the same model can respond differently.
That’s why we don’t chase one magic compression number.

Natural break-in happens slowly.
So slowly, in fact, that most parents never really notice the exact moment the bat changes.

Controlled break-in gives the bat a head start.
That means the player’s normal swings continue the process from a much different starting point.

This matters.
A Supra does not necessarily respond like an Icon.
An Icon does not necessarily respond like a Nova.
A -8 version may be considerably stiffer than the -10 version of the same bat.
So we don’t advertise:
“Every bat gets dropped X pounds.”
That would be lazy.
We evaluate the bat in front of us and use the data we have to guide the process.
The more bats we see, the better that historical database becomes.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Fill out the order form
Tell us what bat you have, choose your service, and select pickup or drop-off.
2. Choose your handoff window
If you choose doorstep pickup, select your preferred pickup window.
If you choose drop-off, select the window when you expect to bring the bat by.
3. Choose how you plan to pay
Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, or QuickBooks invoice.
4. We send the details
You’ll receive a text with everything you need.
For doorstep pickup, we’ll send the courier quote for approval and confirm the pickup instructions.
For drop-off, we’ll send your locker number, access details, and drop-off instructions.
5. We break in and test the bat
Starting compression, controlled break-in, final testing, and data logged.
6. We text you when it’s complete
Once your bat is finished, we’ll send your payment details by text along with the return instructions.
If you chose local pickup, we’ll send your locker number and access code.
If you chose doorstep return, we’ll ask you to select a preferred return window and confirm the courier details.

We take a starting compression reading before the break-in and a final reading afterward. The goal is to verify that measurable barrel change has occurred and document how the bat responded to the process.
What is included in the compression test?

The actual break-in process typically takes around an hour, depending on the bat itself, its starting stiffness, whether it is new or used, and the service selected. Total turnaround time depends on activity but typically is 1 day (possibly 2).
How long does the break-in process take?

Yes. We currently offer an incremental $10 discount per additional bat, up to 4 bats. Please contact us about special entire team rates (10+).
1 bat = $75
2 bats = $65 each
3 bats = $55 each
4+ bats = $45 each
That means friends, teammates, or siblings can combine bats for better value.
Do you offer discounts for multiple bats?

No. Different models and drop weights can start at very different stiffness levels and respond differently during break-in. That is why we use compression testing and the bat’s individual response rather than treating every bat exactly the same.

There is no single target that applies to every bat. We look for a meaningful change based on the bat’s starting compression, model history, and how it responds during the process.

Yes. Doorstep pickup and return is available in North Houston. Choose your preferred pickup window and we will send you a courier quote for approval before scheduling.

No service can promise results on a particular swing. What we do is accelerate the normal break-in process so the barrel reaches meaningful change sooner than it would through normal use alone.
Will this make my bat hit home runs?

Does bat rolling void the manufacturer warranty?

Most manufacturers prohibit physically altering a bat. Sanity Bat Co. provides a break-in service designed to accelerate the normal break-in process rather than modify the bat’s construction.
Because warranty language varies by manufacturer, we recommend reviewing the specific break-in and warranty terms for your bat.
Many manufacturers today also handle warranty replacement without requiring the original bat to be shipped back first, though policies vary. If warranty coverage is important to you, check your manufacturer’s current terms before service.
